Dr. Mihai Mureșan
Mihai-Ștefan Mureșan graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Iuliu Hațieganu”, Cluj-Napoca, class of 2011. He is a General Surgeon, PhD in Medical Sciences, with postgraduate certification in Oncologic Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, General Ultrasonography and Gynecologic Oncology. Surgical activity in the last thirteen years, includes training in surgical centers in Romania, such as, County Emergency Hospital Cluj – Surgery I and II, Oncological Institute „Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuță”, Municipal Hospital, Cluj-Napoca, as well as in surgical centers in France – CHG – Victor Jousselin, Dreux and England – Guy’s and St.. Thomas’ NHS Trust, London, as well as a deepening of knowledge in advanced surgical oncology in centers in the Netherlands – UMC Leiden, Austria – Uni-Klinikum Innsbruck, Switzerland – CHU Lausanne, Slovenia – UKC Ljubliana, Romania – Spitalul Regina Maria-Ponderas, Bucharest, Germany – Krankenhaus Barmherzige Brüder Regensburg and Turkey – Clinica Universitara Antalya. His areas of interest and expertise include: surgical and gynecologic oncology, breast oncoplastic surgery, minimally invasive colorectal surgery (laparoscopic and robotic), minimally invasive parietal surgery (laparoscopic and robotic) and advanced approach to primary and metastatic peritoneal pathology. His professional experience is complemented by the didactic one, Dr. Mihai Mureșan also working as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in his alma mater, with the academic activity and specialty practice at the Municipal Clinical Hospital Cluj-Napoca – Surgery Clinic V, Department VII – „Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca. Starting from the internal and international collaborations, Dr. Mihai-Ștefan Mureșan, pays special attention to the scientific and research activity, concretized by 41 ISI and BDI indexed specialty articles (as first author and co-author), accumulating a Hirsch index of 11. He was awarded in 2018 and 2020, two UEFISCDI prizes from the Ministry of Education for two of his publications. He is also the author of a specialized monograph and co-author in chapters of two others. Dr. Mihai Mureșan, held the position of Romania’s national representative in the EYSAC of the European Society for Surgical Oncology (ESSO) from 2018-2021. He is a member of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), the European Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ESGO), the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP), the Romanian Association of Endoscopic Surgery (RAES), the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), the Romanian Association of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplantation(ARCHBPTH) and the Hernia Training Center. He is currently Head of the Surgical Specialties Department at Medicover Suceagu Hospital, Cluj.
