Hepatocarcinoma – Radiofrequency ablation by laparoscopic approach
A 57-year-old patient with known viral cirrhosis C with thrombocytopenia was diagnosed with a liver segment III tumor formation (hepatocarcinoma), visceral aspect, for which we performed radiofrequency ablation via laparoscopic approach. Intraoperative contrast-enhanced ultrasound was performed laparoscopically to scan the entire liver for other possible nodules. (A: macronodular cirrhotic liver appearance, B: tumour formation appearance; C: intraoperative ultrasound liver scan; D: tumour formation ablation).
